Again, as with the case of the UK Edition, brands identified in this piece all offer multiplicity of shades for the accommodation of myriad skin tones.

Interestingly, this full coverage foundation also featured in our UK Edition as a top choice brand for oily skin. Beyond its basic features and the expected results it offers, a fascinating fun fact about this formula is that its design was masterminded by makeup artist and beauty vlogger Alissa Ashley, who teamed up with experts at NYX Professional Makeup. In her words on what prompted the formulation of this product, Ashley told Allure as follows:  
We noticed that a lot of in-between shades were missing. When developing this range, we found that if we mixed two shades together or tweaked some by adding a slight undertone, we could get those in-between shades.  
This observation ultimately led to a whopping 45 shades. As expounded previously, this foundation provides a long-lasting grit and an exquisitely waterproof matte finish that leaves the skin dry yet well hydrated, owing to the presence of vitamin E in the formula.

In a recent study of drugstore foundation brands carried out by editors at Women’s Wear Daily, the following finding was made about this foundation:

However, in terms of shade range, it offers one of the least scales of options, with only 15 shades available.
